Many years ago, I introduced a new format that alongside our regular episodes called “Lessons for Hannah.” Hannah is my daughter and one of the main inspirations for the Misfit Entrepreneur. I wanted to have a place where she could go and learn from her daddy and his Misfit friends throughout her life….even after I am gone. If you haven’t listened to the first episode of "Lessons for Hannah," I urge you to as it gives some more background and tells the amazing story of how Hannah came to be in our lives.
Lessons for Hannah are short, very useful, and sometimes comical lessons, that I want to share with you and give to Hannah to help in your lives. Because I want Hannah to have these for her life, I’m going to speak as though I am talking directly to her. These episodes are a lot of fun and if you think there is a lesson that we should include in these episodes, please don’t hesitate to send it over to us at support@misfitentrepreneur.com. We’d love to share it.

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Jeremy Ryan Slate. I’ve known Jeremy for almost a decade. We started our podcasts about the same time and have shared the stage together at a number of events over the years. If you don’t know Jeremy, he is the host of the Jeremy Ryan Slate show, which studies the highest performers in the world and dives deep into world events. He studied literature at Oxford University, as well as holds a Master’s in the study of the Early Roman Empire from Seton Hall University. His podcast was named the #1 Podcast to Listen to by INC Magazine, as well as Top 40 Under 40 by Podcast Magazine.
He also owns the Command Your Brand public relations agency with his wife Brielle.
Many of you that have listened to me for a while, know that I love studying history, especially world and economic history. Part of that is because I love the topic, but the other part is because I have run a financial education business and small investment fund for years, so I have to keep up on this stuff. I have been wanting to do a show for a while on where things are going with the US economy and where we fit into the history of the rise and decline of empires because there are some striking parallels going on right now – especially to Rome. As a business owner or entrepreneur, where we are going affects you – not just the inflation we are seeing, but the dollar being challenged as a reserve currency and other happenings. And who better to discuss this with than Jeremy!

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Julie Roy. Julie is a multi-millionaire entrepreneur that was born into an Italian immigrant family and raised in Windsor, Ontario. She continued to build businesses and today, she is an entrepreneur, investor, speaker, author, podcaster, coach and world traveler who has visited all seven continents with her husband and four kids…and is financially free.
Her latest book is called The Multi-Million Dollar Mompreneur: Your guide to business mastery, uncommon freedom and legacy wealth.
Julie’s set out to design the exact life she envisioned all the way back when she was a kid and made it happen. I’m excited for her to share her best wisdom on how you can do the same!
