This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Jason Yarusi. Jason is a Private fund manager of over $300 million dollars in commercial real estate. Since 2017 his company Yarusi Holdings has amassed over 3000 apartment and commercial real estate units. Jason has built and exited multiple companies: construction, restaurants, a brewery and multiple large apartment communities.

He is also the host of the Live 100 Podcast and runs the 7 Figure Multifamily Mastermind.

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Ted Pryor. Ted has had one heck of a Misfit Entrepreneur journey. From 1982 to 1987, Ted was the middleweight kickboxing champion of the world. But behind the scenes, he was a key player in the biggest marijuana trafficking operation in American history. After a stint in prison, he re-emerged and became wildly successful in business, eventually founding Children of America, a company dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and education with more than 60 locations across 15 states.

In addition to that, Ted is an actor, producer, and just released his latest books, Three-Time World Champ: The Death-Defying True Story of a Kickboxer Turned Drug Smuggler . . . Turned Business Icon.

This year, I am going to do something a little different. I’ve just returned from spending almost a month overseas and competing in New Zealand in the Ironman World Championships. I promised my family that I would take that time with them and just unplug. That meant no podcasts or anything during that time and I stuck to it. It was an amazing trip and such a wonderful experience. For all my Kiwi listeners, your country is truly incredible. I hope everyone watching and listening gets a chance to visit it someday.

I started out saying that this end of year episode is going to be a little different. Where usually, I do a recap of all the episodes throughout the year and share wisdom from them, instead, I am going to share my Top 5 lessons I am taking away from 2024 and my best advice going into 2025. This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Dre Baldwin. Dre is an interesting entrepreneur who owns the brand, Work on Your Game. He is a former pro-basketball player playing in 8 countries during this career. But, he wasn’t a superstar from the start. He had to work harder than anyone and walk on at a division 3 school to get his shot. And he made the most of it succeeding and turning pro.

He was an early adopter of YouTube and has a massive following and since leaving pro basketball, he has authored 35 books, created over 400 products, given 4 Ted Talks on Discipline, Confidence, Mental Toughness, and Personal Initiative. His daily Work on Your Game Masterclass has been downloaded over 7.5 million times!

Hearing all of that, you can see why I asked him to be on the show and I love his no-nonsense straightforward approach to success because it’s a lot like mine.

Many years ago, I introduced a new format that alongside our regular episodes called “Lessons for Hannah.” Hannah is my daughter and one of the main inspirations for the Misfit Entrepreneur. I wanted to have a place where she could go and learn from her daddy and his Misfit friends throughout her life….even after I am gone. If you haven’t listened to the first episode of "Lessons for Hannah," I urge you to as it gives some more background and tells the amazing story of how Hannah came to be in our lives.

Lessons for Hannah are short, very useful, and sometimes comical lessons, that I want to share with you and give to Hannah to help in your lives.
